Today seems like a good one to show some of my many watercolors.  I love the medium, but find that I am super picky about the look I want to present.  These have a softness that I am always trying to achieve.  There is also a variety of edges, though I admit that I will keep working to achieve even softer edges in places.  Thanks for taking a look!

White Poppies is 24" x 30" in acrylic.  I am having so much fun working this way.  My goal is to stay loose and create a great composition with value and then use color as jewels.  I will admit that staying loose was hard for me on this one so I used palette knife and drips to create shapes that I felt expressed my intention.  Hope you like it!
I am working on values and shades of gray with a little color lately.  This is an acrylic that is 24" x 20" and it is all about Reflections in The Water.

I have been working in acrylics for awhile and just thought I would work on a really loose watercolor with a definite focal point.  This one is 11" x 15" and it is called Memories of the Southwest.

This painting is a nice big square, 36" x 36".  It is acrylic on canvas and I am calling it Urban Winter.  I am so enjoying working in this way.  It is like searching for a buried treasure every time I paint.
Sometimes They Become Something Else.  This painting went through several transformations and now I think it is happy with it's identity.  I think people can be that way too.  The core is always there and life shapes us.  Deep thoughts for a Monday morning.

I am so happy to be posting again.  I have been so busy remodeling a home that we moved into last year that I just decided not to post for awhile.  I have been painting though and working on finding my voice.  I am happy with both difficult endeavors.  The house is feeling more like a home and the paintings feel more like what I am supposed to be painting.  I guess they feel more like home too.  Sometimes growth comes from upheaval, but I have been working with a coach who is a wonderful artist.  Her name is Gwen Fox.  I can't say enough about her great critiques and individual support.  I plan to blog more often now and show off my new works.  This one is called Her Morning Meditation and it acrylic on canvas, 20"  x 24".

Open Windows is one of my newest paintings in acrylic.  I was feeling the pull towards lots of texture and pattern to achieve balance and movement.  It is 20" x 16".

I have been away for awhile.  It has been a busy year, but I have continued to paint and now I will start posting again on a regular basis.
