Autumn Aspens

I love the sparkle of the paper in a watercolor painting. This painting has that sparkle and to me it looks like the sun is shining through the leaves. The colors remind me of a crisp autumn morning in the mountains. It is a landscape and it is 14" x 11".

Poppy Dance

I thought I would show my latest poppy piece. It is 24" x24" and it an acrylic. It will be in a show called the Four Friends Classy Art Show in the Georgetown Library the month of December. The reception is Sunday, December 11, from 12:00 - 3:00. If you are in the neighborhood stop by and have a cup of coffee.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I enjoyed seeing family and eating too much.
Happy Black Friday!

Red Poppies in Blue

I am working on a series of small acrylic paintings of poppies. This one is 10" x 8". It is on gallery wrapped canvas. I have a little trouble with the photos, but I am working on it. They look much better without the glare!

Wine and Flowers

This watercolor is 22.5" x 15". I combined two things I really like and came up with a painting that I like. Yeah! The thing I like best about this painting is the color, but I also enjoy the superimposed shapes. I hope you do too. It is a floral.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn Berries

I love the colors of Autumn and the red berries that decorate the bushes this time of year are to me a promise as sure as a rainbow. They tell me that after our short winter there will be a renewal. It is interesting to try to capture that feeling in painting. I will put this painting in the floral category. It is 9" x15" and it is a watercolor.

Root Veggies

I love the colors and shapes of these wonderful vegetables. I used them to create interesting negative shapes and color contrast. This is a watercolor, but I used a little white to bring back the bright background in some areas where the paint went uninvited. I will work more with this subject matter.
This painting is 15"x17" and it is a still life.

Summer Memories

Watermelon always makes me remember hot summer days, when I was a child, sitting in the backyard with a big juicy slice. This still life is 10.5" x 10.5". It is a watercolor. Now that the days have turned colder, it is a nice memory.

Fruit Salad

Can you tell I have a difficult time with titles? This still life was fun to paint. I enjoyed the challenge of the pineapple and balancing the rich colors. This painting is 22" x 15". It is a watercolor and can be matted and framed to a 28' x 22" standard frame.
