I have been so busy!!! I took a break around the holidays, and I guess I feel the need to catch up. Some people create a bucket list of things they want to do, I am creating a list of things I want to paint, just to say I did it. This is the first of my bucket list paintings. I love the beach, but don't spend much time there. I went to visit my son and his family when they lived in North Carolina several years ago and went to the beach with them. It was cold and windy, but bright and sunny. After a lot of editing, I decided that I had enough information in a photo to work on this painting. It has the big sky and strong shadows that I like. It is 24" x 20". The title is Three on the Beach.

Road to Sunset is another new acrylic painting that I completed this week. I am working on a series of landscapes and have decided that dramatic skies are fun to paint. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle where the skies are huge and the colors are fabulous so it is a natural place for me to go. I love the beautiful trees of The Hill Country, and the skies of sunset are often lavender here, so this painting was born. It is 20" x 16", acrylic on canvas.
It is not too early to start thinking about the Poppy Festival that takes place here in Georgetown,TX in April. I love poppies. Everyone who knows me will tell you that I can't be stopped. So if you like poppies, stay tuned as there will be more. This one is an acrylic. It is 16" x 20". The title is Bright Poppies.
