Many Gifts is my new watercolor still life. It is 22" x 30". My goal with this piece was to create an interesting composition that was contemporary in contrast with the traditional objects that I have drawn carefully, but at odd angles. It is, I hope, about the treasures not the still life.

The Long Wait
Am I telling a story with this painting? I hope so. This model with her red hair could always get into compelling poses. I imagined a background for her that designs the space and tells her story. This figurative watercolor is 22" x 30".

Desert Whites
As long as I am going down memory lane, I may as well visit Arizona. It is so much fun to explore warm and cool whites in watercolor. That is what this painting is all about. The texture of the cactus contrasts with the softness of the petals. I had fun with this floral. I hope it shows. This watercolor is 11.5" x 15.5".

Easter Parade
I love the bulbs that bloom early. I remember finding them peeking through the snow when I was growing up in the panhandle of Texas. I always thought of them as a promise of renewal. Deep thoughts on a Monday morning. This is a watercolor and it is 15"x22".

Two Models
Two Models is another figurative watercolor. This painting is a little different, so I thought I'd share it. I am getting into pattern and color these days and this one illustrates the direction I would like to go. It is 15"x22".

Regrets
I had a lot of fun with this moody, figure painting. It is a watercolor on bristol board that has had a coat of gesso applied to it. The watercolor sits on top and can be manipulated easily. I was able to change the figure until it had the feeling I wanted. I used watercolor crayons to create the lacy pattern on the skirt. It is 28"x22".

Party Girl
I may as well show another recent figure. I loved this model and her big black boots. Such a contrast with the look of the dress. What you should know is that the dress was made out of garbage bags. I added patten and color for fun. This is also a mixed media painting on Bristol Board.

Summer Colors
Are we ready for a little summer sun yet? I am. I'm guessing that this model is thinking about a beach somewhere. I love the bright colors of the dress. This piece is another watercolor that I painted recently at our figure drawing session. I hope you like it.

Rural Memories
This old barn is like so many throughout our great country. A favorite subject for many artists, I must also give it a go. I believe that it is best for people to write about and paint things they know. Country scenes are a big part of my life. This landscape is a watercolor.

Mom's Bowl 2
Mom's Bowl 2 is a transparent watercolor painting of my Mom's china bowl with blueberries. The bowl actually belonged to my grandfather and was passed down to her along with more pieces of this lovely set. I love the color and patterns. The photo is a little crooked, as the horizontal line is not tilted. It also still needs to be signed. It is
6.5"x 6.5" and it is a still life.
