I have been working on a still life that has a tropical feel because it is so colorful. It has been awhile since I painted a set up still life, and I had forgotten how much I enjoy the process.
Yes, I still love the cactus flowers. They bloom here in Texas too. This one was an Arizona Native though. The patterns of the sunlight intrigue me. I guess I'll just paint these lots of times. I never seem to tire of them.
My latest piece is a little upside down. I enjoyed the challenge of this pose. Our model is costumed as a Belly Dancer with silver bangles. I like to add drama to her red curly hair.
