Kimono Poses is a watercolor using both transparent and opaque paints to achieve a soft flow. It was inspired by a lovely model and her Kimono full of pattern. I used these elements not to copy, but to create a design that communicates to the viewer a feeling of calm and grace. This is a subject that intrigues me, so I have begun a series. One of those is also posted. Look for the designs to become more about the patterns than the figures in the future. I always like to have ideas knocking around up there.

Kimono Poses was chosen to be in the Southwest Watercolor Show in Dallas in September. I am very excited to be included in this large show.
