Reception

This is one of my new pieces that will be shown through February and March at Stinger Studio in Georgetown, Texas. I have been working on this series of still life paintings in watercolor, and am so excited to have them included in a show with my three friends, Rae Andrews, Vicki Brevell, and Sue Gray. Our reception is Saturday evening and I hope lots of friends come to see this great show.

Soft

This is a watercolor floral that is 22" x 15". It has a very soft feeling about it, thus the title. This painting is all about edges. I worked to have hard, soft and lost and found edges. I love tulips! I think I'll go get some more...

Renewal

This has been a nice winter. Mild with a little rain. It is easy to look forward to spring and see what magic will happen in nature. After the drought we had last summer, it will be interesting to see what plants struggle back to life. This watercolor is 22" x 15".

Red Poppies2

Yes, I have been painting! This one is not new, but it is cheery and bright on this gray day in Texas. This is a mixed media painting with watercolor and acrylic. I added red acrylic glazes to intensify the reds. It is 22" x 30", so it makes a statement. Hope you like it.

Joy

Joy is 7.5" x7". I know I have already posted this little watercolor, but I wanted it to have the top spot for a day or so. I like this floral and hope you do too. I am still painting, but have had several shows recently and that has taken me away from my blog. I am painting large and loose instead of small and focused. It is amazing how much more difficult that is for me, but I am hoping to get going on the blog now!

Tea With Pears

I am beginning a new series that will explore still life with watercolor. This is not a new theme or medium for me, but I hope the look and feel are different. Color, pattern and relationships between objects are important elements to me with this series.

Remorse

I titled this painting Remorse because the model looks so sad. I am still trying new things with my figure paintings because there is something about some of the poses that demands my attention. This was a simple pose, but the colors are fun, a striking contrast to the attitude of the model. This is a watercolor and it is 15"x11".
