I so need practice with the blog.  This is going to be good for me.
I have added the background because I wanted more drama.  The glass is just in the beginning stage, but I love to paint glass because there really is not much to it.  Gotta admit that adding the dark was a hard thing to do.  I liked the white.  But, I wanted contrast.  Wait till you see the crazy addition in my next photo!

It has been too long!  Let's try to document my painting process through the blog.  This is my latest watercolor and I took photos throughout the painting process so I could blog about it.  I hope it is of interest!

Waiting

Another pose.  Another painting.  I am ready to get back to figurative work as you can tell.  I hope it works to paint in different styles.  I know that it is not the best way to show a collection, but I do feel that working abstractly helps my figurative works a great deal.  Introspection is a big part of these latest works.  She's not sad, she's just waiting, and maybe taking a little break from the action.

Two Poses

Two Poses is a painting that I completed recently.  I wanted to convey a mood of quiet introspection.  I am loving the watercolor crayons as a way to add some interesting line quality.  This painting is watercolor, but I am not a purist.  It has some watercolor white added.  I like the unexpected glow it seems to give.

Cherries From Pat

Pat brought some cherries to share with the artists who came to my house to take a workshop with Rea Andrews.  We had a wonderful time and learned so much.  I can't wait to work with yupo paper again soon.  It is such a different surface to work on.

Sunflowers Again

I worked on this one a little more.  It reminds me of Van Gogh and his beautiful sunflowers.  I call it Thank You Van Gogh.
